Graham M. Schweig, Ph.D.

Dr. Schweig, Advisor to the Gita Institute of TI/SPRS and Professor of Religious Studies at Christopher Newport University (CNU), has been practicing Yoga for 45 years, and is an internationally renowned scholar on Sanskrit Yoga texts. He studied at the University of Chicago and earned his doctorate in comparative religion from Harvard University, and among his authored and translated publications is Dance of Divine Love (Princeton, 2005) and Bhagavad Gita: The Beloved Lord’s Secret Love Song (Harper, 2007). He is co-editor of the unique peer-reviewed “Journal of Vaishnava Studies,” now in its 20th year (www.deepakheritage.com).

Dr. Schweig focuses on the hidden teachings of classical Yoga philosophy and practice that enhance the modern application of asana and deepens Yoga meditation in daily life. He is a frequently-invited lecturer at the prestigious Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, and universities in the U.S. and abroad, and he offers the Secret Yoga Seminars at major Yoga conferences and Yoga centers worldwide.
