Suman Vardan, MD, FACC, FACP
Taksha Guest Speaker for the Center for Integrative Medicine and Yoga (CIMY), Dr. Suman Vardan received his MD in 1959 (Darbhanga Medical College) and began further medical training in 1970 in the US, including a Cardiology Fellowship and as Teaching Fellow at Brown University, Providence, RI. He joined the Medical/Cardiology faculty of the State University of NY (Health Science) and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Syracuse, New York in 1975. In 2004, he retired as Professor of Cardiology, and worked as a Cardiology Consultant with Capital Cardiology Associates, in Lanham, MD, from 2006 to 2009; at the Heart & Vascular Institute, Winchester, VA, from 2010 to 2013; and at the Heart Center of Southern Maryland, since 2014. He has published 34 medical/cardiology papers in the US and abroad, and lectured as Guest Faculty in the US and in India. More recently, Dr. Vardan has also been active in the practice of “Yog as Medicine.”
