Center of Data and Information Management (CDIM)
A unit of TI/SSTEM, CDIM’s scientific data processing capabilities are second to none. Our skills and techniques have been used for many years on a variety of projects supporting the U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). TI’s service to these clients, and the critical missions they support, has consistently proven innovative, successful, and reliable.
Data and Information Bases: The Institute plans to undertake the acquisition and management of relational databases and information libraries involving different parameters, stored in a user-friendly manner, for use in development of understanding/ predictive models and simulations of phenomena and events, for product-developers and decision-makers.
As an example, for over 16 years TI personnel maintained U.S. Army atmospheric databases which include: the AAODL (Atmospheric Aerosols and Optics Data Library), the WIND (Winds in Non-uniform Domain) database, and the DEDBS (Directed Energy Database System) for atmospheric characterization. These efforts include data collection, formatting, processing, quality control, and archiving. Data archive contents have been collected during field tests, ship cruises, and laboratory tests.
