DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this seminar is to provide an integrated understanding of western diet (Greek dieta = “way of living”) and Ayurvedic philosophy of digestion and nutrition. While conventional western medicine tells us that we are what we eat, integrative medicine tells us we are what we digest, what we think, and what we believe.
Digestion is a subtle process of mindful eating with all five senses transforming food into consciousness. Students will hear how to take food from the realm of physical sustenance to a more sacred level, and then observe the effects on how they feel on the inside, and how they look on the outside.
The third session consists of a hands-on Ayurvedic cooking class in a kitchen, culminating with a delicious meal for all students! A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to each participant at the end of the seminar.
